Hinds Goes Yard Twice, Makes History
On Saturday, Hinds launched not one, but two home runs against the Miami Marlins, marking his first career multi-homer game. This feat brought his total to an astounding five home runs in just his first six games with the Reds! He also added two additional hits, a hit-by-pitch, and three RBI, contributing significantly to the Reds’ 10-6 victory.

Eye-Popping Stats
Hinds’ early performance is nothing short of phenomenal. He currently boasts a sizzling .524 batting average, a .565 on-base percentage, and a slugging percentage of 1.476, which translates to a staggering 2.032 OPS (On-Base Plus Slugging). This is especially impressive considering his ranking of only 15th on MLB Pipeline’s Reds prospect list.

Hinds Surpasses Legends with Historic Extra-Base Hits
According to MLB.com’s Sarah Langs, Hinds has etched his name in baseball history. With his nine extra-base hits in his first six games, he surpasses all other players in the modern era (since 1901) by two. Furthermore, his six home runs in that same timeframe land him as the second-most in MLB history, falling just short of Trevor Story’s record-breaking seven homers in 2016.

From Struggles to Stardom
Hinds’ meteoric rise is even more remarkable considering his struggles in Triple-A before his big league call-up. He batted a modest .216 with 13 home runs in 77 games for Triple-A Louisville.
Despite his earlier struggles, the Reds, who drafted him in the second round of the 2019 MLB Draft, saw potential in Hinds. Now, he’s proving them right with a performance that’s turning heads across the league.

The question remains: can he maintain this blistering pace or will he eventually cool down? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure: baseball fans are eager to see what this red-hot rookie does next.
